We originally bumped into Joe via a mutual friend. After a few conversations and general chatter we decided on the idea to create Joe a website with the focus to launch a single product e-commerce store. Woo Deal done right? Wrong.
The issue at hand was Joe had no true branding, and as someone with his individuality, he didn’t want to tie himself to a name or brand aggressively but still make something visually powerful. We agreed, understanding people love Joe because of his authenticity and his connection to the audience. So we reversed engineered from our normal process and put an action plan together;
1) Have Joe outline what things he thought was cool on websites and within designs. 👀
2) Design a product based on that. 🎨
3) Use the product to back step through the site’s design and relay all the design features throughout the site.
Therefore, essentially creating a “theme” that was brought across the site without designing an entirely different identity / brand, all while remaining product focused.
This lead to an enormous launch that truly excited the audience, because throughout every step of the journey it remained about Joe.
